5 design tips for your beach bar & restaurant design

Feeling ready to plunge into summer ? We have 5 tips to design your beach bars and restaurants!

The favourite season of all is at the door! And you will need ( if you still haven't started ) you preparation to offer the best service at the beach side!  Beach bars and restaurant always require a touch in their design, as their own typology is temporary as it is  depends on the season. This is why a transformation to enhance the freshness through design is always required almost every year.

To distance from the visual noise and the  cacophony of shapes and colours of our cities , beach bars and seaside restaurant, should aim to bring in serenity for their users relying on light color sand natural materials.

Inspiration come by the latest trends like Boho style, is short for “Bohemian” – this design concept features unconventional elements, bright paint, textured walls, open seating, and mismatched furniture all lead to a relaxed, hip look and to create a relaxed and calm atmosphere. 

To distance from the visual noise and cacophony that nowadays cities offer, beach bars and restaurants should bring calmness based on their color palette and natural materials, to so focus only on the experience!

Consciously include local materials!

As we are not located in the cities, be sure to include in your design material that you can easily access nearby! Probably also think about involving some local artisans.

Especially  look up to use materials like stone, wood, straws, reeds, dried pumpkins, rope to create attractive element that easily merge with nature.

Like the typical tend covered in eucalyptus, especially in the southern of Albania ( Borsh)  provide you with the right freshness to withstand high temperatures but also to enjoy your lunch / drink as peacefully as possible!

Make nature a design element!

In addition to the trees that can be found in your space, be sure to make part of  design  large ceramic vases with large plants, to bring a little green color into the interior! This is because our eyes automatically calms down around this color and you would like your customers to be as relaxed as possible!

Beside, the green plants, you can add elements filled with white stones, shells and dried leaves.

Experiment with current design trends!

Beach bars have a great advantage as their design is renewed every season, so you can afford to experiment with the current design trends! For example the use of rattan, widely used in Japandi style (where Japanese style blends with Scandinavian style) or the use of Macrame ,knitting with different ropes, bu  creating personalised designs for almost every element that comes to mind such as umbrellas to dividers, holders for flower pots, hammocks, or chairs!!

Be bold and experiment !

Don't forget to bring in fun elements too!

Let your imagination take you, and bring out the child within you! At the end, vacations serve to free yourself, so instead of typical bar seats, use swings! Or just take advantage of natural phenomena such as the summer breeze, like the architecture studio K Studio did at Barbouni restaurant in Greece, where fabric pieces in the ceiling just create a spectacular movement whenever there the wind which totally transforms the whole space experience.

Bonus,  the most important (this comes from personal experience) is the right music (like the Costes hotel type, Caffe del Mar, Ambient, Chill,). At the end is the moment to enjoy nature!
