Pik Ark presents : Fragments of Albanian Architecture – An exclusive event with Architects at Green Coast MGallery
“Fragments of Albanian Architecture” is more than a book; it is a journey through the projects, voices, and stories of Albanian architects who, with their work, build not only spaces but also a reflection of our culture and evolving society.
After two editions, this initiative has shown that Albanian architecture has much to say – and much to offer.
This time, the narrative was brought closer to the people who created it. In a warm and exclusive luncheon at Green Coast MGallery Hotel, Pikark brought together the architects featured in the publication, the interview collaborators, as well as those who brought the book to life. Beyond the printed pages, the second edition creates a space to listen to their stories, challenges, and inspirations, shared through interviews.
A space to connect voices
The aim was simple yet powerful: to create a moment of networking, dialogue, and strengthening of professional ties among architects, as well as to explore one of the most intriguing tourism projects – Green Coast MGallery Hotel, a building distinguished by its architectural composition, elegant façade, and attention to detail, particularly the glazing system, a key element for seaside structures.
The authors’ words
At the opening, the book’s authors – Armand Vokshi, Blerta Vila Rizvanolli, and Nesila Hajdini – shared their thoughts on the importance of such publications. They emphasized that books are not only archives of projects but also bridges of collaboration that reinforce the architect’s role and generate new synergies, at a time when attention is often focused solely on international names.
“Fragments” gives voice to architects from Albanian-speaking regions, presenting a contemporary architecture that is thoughtfully conceived and deeply connected to our culture.
The partnership that makes it possible
The event would not have been complete without the support of its partners. AluKönigStahl as the main partner, highlighted the hotel’s Schüco glazing system, which the architects had the chance to explore up close.
Company representative Letjana Spiro shared the 160-year history of the firm and the ways in which it has supported architects in realizing their projects, both in Albania and abroad.
A look to the future
The gathering also served as an invitation for all participants to join the third edition of the book, which promises to bring innovations and evolve into a series of architecture-dedicated events. This time, the team will also be joined by the well-known architect from North Macedonia, Besian Mehmeti.
Exploring
Participants toured several areas of the hotel, including a Junior Suite, observing the architectural details firsthand. Later, the luncheon at the hotel restaurant became a space where conversations sparked around new collaborations, challenges, and opportunities for Albanian architecture.
A mosaic shaping identity
The event turned into a celebration of the achievements of Albanian architecture – fragments that, together, are shaping the identity of an architecture proudly “Made in Albania.”
Not just a book, not only an event – but a movement aiming to strengthen the voice of Albanian architects and amplify it further.
