FROM THE ARCHITECT
The apartment is designed by Nina and Arbri at the same time owners of this apartment and founder-s of Andaras architecture studio, thus it was a personal challenge to turn this traditional apartment into a comfortable and recreational structure. Minimalism along with innovative system application makes the difference. To have a nice apartment is good taste, but this adding to this apartment comfort and innovative systems makes perfection.
The entrance is characterised by a recessed closet that provides space for the shoes and of everyday clothes. The closet’s doors are covered with a mirror as an element that doubles the corridor’s space. To the right is clearly perceived the dimensions of the living room through a black door with transparent glass. This space delivers also to the bedrooms and to the common toilet
Living room
This space was re-dimensioned by adding another space i within it. The surface of 15 m2 added to existing solution, serves as the chimney space.
It is not the usual fireplace that we are used to see in apartments, but a bioethanol fireplace was preferred in accordance with the modern design that characterizes this interior, with a perfect rhythmic flame to spark the desire for a glass of wine in a good company during the winter days.
Next to there is a library where you can find life’s fragments and memories, along with souvenirs of distant and nearby trips.
On the other there is a cozy modular L-shape sofa that you can shape it as you like and change its configuration when you get bored.
Beside the coffee tables, side tables are attached to the sofa as one integrated furniture unit, making it easy to consume anything, move them around when you have guests or even draw sketches when inspiration to design new objects or interiors strikes in.
On a micro-cemented wall, in front of the cozy sofa, there is the tv-screen, without any furniture or decor around. Just a big grey screen, everything minimal.
As the kitchen has switched place to the existing living room, by taking in a new space, it turned into an intimate corner apart from the new living room. All the three spaces: the living room, fireplace and the kitchen are oriented toward the veranda view through a large window, that opens and it turns this whole ensemble into a large open space.
The kitchen is the place that gets all the family together, where work and the daily flow is discussed while consuming food takes place in the entire space with a working island in the centre, attached to the dinning table. The kitchen’s counter is in quartz that covers all the kitchen area. The refrigerator is equipped with two doors, one for freezing and the other for the refreshing.
The aspirator is also added with a dedicated aspiration set position into gypsum ceiling through grills. In addition the incoming water in the apartment is filtered into a system with four large filters before moving from the panel to the faucet.Using the power of sunlight, hot water comes from the solar panel, minimising so the costs over time.
The veranda is designed as a mini living room, an opportunity to relax that is missing in our standard apartment: to find nature’s tranquility and comfort created by two large olive trees and African wood used in it. An oscillating capsule lets you get rid of your thoughts and relax. The floor is paved parquet imitation tiles, chosen not to make a difference from the interior to the veranda.
Bedroom (Kids Bedroom)
Adan’s room (son) is designed as a playground Installed in an apartment, the floor is covered in carpet, a very cozy material in winter and much more secure for any possible falls that a kid could experience. Neutral colors are preferred and the elements to contrast this neutrality are the toys. Wallpaper is printed in ecological paint and with a design to further develop a small child’s imagination.
The tent is another element that is very fond to children because it is a small swath, inside the large and common house. What we wanted to do in the boy’s room is to turn it into his favorite angle, to develop his skills and imagination.
Master bedroom
The master bedroom resembles to a hotel suite, both in size and design. The king size bed with 2mx2m dimensions is stands alone, accompanied only by a sideboard and the toilet mirror. The front wall is mdf-covered, warm colors are used and the floor is covered again in carpet.
In front of the bed, there is the wardrobe and a glass door is the separator of these two spaces. By the entrance is positioned the room’s toilet. In its design, large tiles, mosaic tiles in the shower area and krion sink were applied.
Resistances inserted in the floor provide with warmth that lacks during the winter.
Ceiling lighting used in the apartment is all recessed into the flat gypsum ceilings. A choice to fanatically stick to the style. Moreover, other types of lighting are present such as free standing lights, led lighting and bedside lighting. Apart of all this you can easily spot design elements that should not miss in an architect’s apartment.
