The 50th Regional Restoration Camp

This time we are celebrating twice:
1. 15 Years of Camps
and
2. Camp no. 50 to be held this year!

…so expect the unexpected as history will be made!
The 50th Regional Restoration Camps will be held in two parts - online from 29th of August to 5th of September and in-person from 8th to 18th of September.

The theme: Building Conservation & Interpretation

This time the Camp will be held not only in Gjirokastra, the city where the Camps have initiated 15 years ago but we bring a new and exciting locations, and give you the opportunity to immerse yourself into the vibes and atmosphere of two different sites in the cross border between Albania and Greece!

Where exactly?
Vitsa - Perfectly located, in central Zagori (Greece) has characteristic Zagorian architecture of the famed 18th and 19th century immersed in the beautiful nature.
Gjirokastra –Located in the Drino river valley in southern Albania, World Heritage Site that features a series of outstanding tower houses which were developed in the 17th century.

For what?
To learn and contribute to the restoration, documentation and interpretation of invaluable local historical structures and related intangible heritage aspects.

When?
29 August-5 September (the theoretical part will be held online), the second part will be held on-site from 8th to 10th of September in Vitsa, and from 10th to 18th of September in Gjirokastra .
