Vuno Individual Villa

The villa is located in the South of Albania, in the village of Vuno. From the begining of the design it has been decided to preserve the typology of villas and construction in the village. The stone construction, the rectangular and arched windows in the lobby, as well as the Venetian wood shutters, are integrated with the rustic design. The stone walls are built in such a way that both in the interior and exterior they are carved and sculpted in order to become part of the decor and design.

Step by step, at each stage of the project it was thought by the client and the architect, to combine details of the typology of villas in Mykonos, Greece with arched parapets with plaster and to use glass for its properties as a material. The panoramic view was a condition to be preserved from every corner of the building, therefore the glass was the ideal solution.

There are 2 types of veranda floors:

• With mosaic, where 2 materials are intertwined, ceramic brick from Tuscany and local stone.
• The second floor, which coincides as the third terrace in the building, is paved with square parquet to create the idea of ​​the vintage style. On the perimeter of the parquet, 15cm wide is covered with white decorative stones that connect the white plaster parapet to the parquet floor.

Stair railings, porch and balcony are treated with the same detail, with plastered brick wall and arched windows, as well as exposed wooden beams on the ceiling.

The façade, on the most of the surface, is the typology of the surrounding villas where the east and west sides are treated with bare stones and plaster.
