In modern cities there are many types of noise, which make daily life quite difficult. According to the European Environment Agency "noise pollution is a growing problem in Europe and of which people are not aware of the effects it has on their health".
At ALUMIL, we develop aluminum systems, focusing on improving people's quality of life. Thus, we improve their efficiency based on noise reduction, by controlling our systems, in order to certify their performance and acoustic insulation.
This is why we certified four of our systems based on noise reduction levels. Specifically, we certified SUPREME S77 thermally insulated systems, SMARTIA S67 URBAN, SMARTIA M9660 and SMARTIA MD67 front door system. For the new certifications, ALUMIL collaborated with the Architectural Technology Laboratory of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After all the necessary tests, the measurements led to the following acoustic insulation results:
To give a magnitude rating in relation to the noise reduction level provided by the above systems, consider that a high-traffic road produces noise levels close to 80 decibels. This means that if we have a window with a certified sound reduction of 45 dB, the noise that will eventually pass will be 45 dB less, being reduced to only 35 dB.
It is worth noting that the above measurements, with which the systems are certified, were performed using glass of specific features for sound insulation. SUPREME S77 was certified with 46 dB insulating glass, SMARTIA S67 URBAN with 50 dB insulating glass, while for M9660 and MD67 the respective glass had 51 dB sound insulation.
We stick to our vision of continuous progress and construction excellence. With these new acoustic insulation certifications, we improve the performance of our advanced aluminum systems and offer our customers products that greatly contribute to reducing unwanted noise.
