An innovative and sustainable school, with a design that challenges every stereotype about school buildings, will transform the entire area and give new life to the community.

The new school complex, the largest in Italy, will consist of two school institutes and a gymnasium with an area of 14,665 m² and a budget of €29,663,823.00. Located in Campania on land confiscated from the Camorra, in the province of Caserta, this complex will accommodate around 1,800 students across three different educational cycles, providing a dignified educational environment in line with the latest technological advancements.

The organic form is inspired by the fluidity of the watery context, closely linked to the terrain and history of Castel Volturno.

The complex is characterized by three macro-zones that create a continuous and fluid space under a  perforated metal fabric reinforced with undulations reminiscent of the flowing waters of the Volturno River. To emphasize this land-water dialogue, natural water mirrors are planned at the entrance of the school complex. In this way, the structure gains symbolic and aesthetic value, helping to strengthen the identity values of the area.

The interior spaces are characterized by a heterogeneous distribution of functions, promoting interdisciplinary teaching with classrooms alternating with multimedia laboratories. The continuity with the classroom and laboratories 's  green outdoor spaces  is achieved through windows and inner courtyards that integrate with the volumes, encouraging students' connection with nature during school hours.

In the expansive outdoor park, playground and sports facilities alternate with green areas and educational gardens to encourage a connection with nature among the young users of the complex.

The architectural, structural, and systems design is modeled in BIM according to European standards, facilitating the control of interferences between disciplines and project costs through detailed quantity surveys. This method ensures that the budget aligns with the compositional ambition. Additionally, the building guarantees high energy performance as it is classified as NZEB (nearly zero-energy building) according to European directives, reducing energy consumption through the use of renewable energy.
