Here are 5 movies we think architects would enjoy watching!
This beautiful film directed by Nolan creates a world in which dreams can be designed, manipulated and then implanted into people’s minds by “architects.” The dreamscapes created by the architects in world are not bound to the rules of physics or reality!
Both the 1982 and 2017 films are known for their hazy, dystopian urban landscapes characterized by futuristic architecture and high-tech elements. This sets the unmistakably dark and somber tone of the movie.
Wes anderson’s signature style of symmetry and pleasing pastel colours are brought to life in this quirkly film. The hotel layout is cleverly used as a tool for comedy and choregraphy throughout the film
This movie made waves in 2019 with its dark and insightful commentary on social class and discrimination. Director Bong-Joon Ho makes the most of the home architecture, each scene ingeniously crafted to set the desired tone and symbolize the running themes of the film.
Main character Truman Burbanks lives in a textbook suburban neighbourhood, the image of the ‘American Dream’. This movie uses its environment to explore themes of perfection, reality and agency over own environments and lives.
Let us know what movies we can add on the list! 😊
