Përshkrimi
The island of Tinos is characterized by strong rock elements and sloping ground. The earth tone colors, in combination with the atmosphere, create a spectacular environment for every visitor. The indoor pool, a project created by Aristides Dallas Architects, incorporates all the features of the island's identity, including those in its design.
The Solution
The simplicity of Tinos is evident in the lines of the residence, while the construction takes inspiration from the rocky outdoor environment. Looking at the settlement from afar, it seems that it is integrated into the natural landscape, leaving traces of the architect's vision. Three large blocks of cement are connected to the roof consisting of visible reinforced concrete, while the linear structure of the pool draws attention and extends the invisible line of the building to the sea, changing the terrestrial and aquatic environment in an imaginary way.
We continued with the interior of the residence entering through the front door. The central entrance, located at the highest point, lies in the pit that the rocks created. The minimal lines of the concrete exterior wall continues on the inside as well, increasing the sense of cohesion. Large spaces allow sunlight to diffuse inside the house, while the minimal frame construction subtly emphasizes the emotions.
The residence harmoniously combines earth, air and concrete and brings to mind the value of constructive simplicity that complements the natural environment.
