Building a contemporary hostel in the central square of Thessaloniki was a special challenge that required proper design, modern aesthetics and ensuring maximum comfort for visitors who would choose to stay there.
Transforming an '70s office building into a "warm" hospitality environment for local travelers or tourists was not an easy task. The Urban Soul Project team that undertook the architectural design of "Zeus is Loose" played a key role in this transformation. All the interventions made in the building served the vision of a modern guesthouse, while preserving the aesthetics of the area.
The multi-storey building offers a magnificent view of Aristotle Square and the aluminum systems covering the wide window spaces enhance the unobstructed view and natural light. The copper color was chosen for the frames, as its presence is evident in the Byzantine church that exists in front of the building and in the surrounding urban structure.
In the interior we find rooms for 2, 4 and 6 people, with a design that follows the minimal aesthetics and clean lines, creating comfortable spaces. At the same time, the use of mosaic maintains a balance between yesterday and today. On the sixth floor of Zeus is Loose there are common areas, with sofas, games room, kitchen, dining area, while on the seventh floor the Nectar Distillery, with its relaxed atmosphere and an impressive pergola covering the outside area, offers the most beautiful view of the city center.
Zeus is Loose takes inspiration from Greek mythology and connects the present with the city's past, in a fresh and youthful way. This is a guesthouse that offers all the necessary services of a modern hospitality organization, inviting the visitor to live as a local and experience unforgettable moments.
