Përshkrimi
The business lounge creates a refreshing area for passengers to enjoy during the wait times between flights. It combines modern elements with traditional ones, to show off a small part of Albanian culture. By creating different use areas, passengers can relax and experience the lounge however they want. This makes it so that even during longer stays, no one gets bored there.
For a place that has and incredible amount of people flow through it, an airport needs to have some features to captivate people and not just be a boring travel stop. With this in mind, the idea to transform the business lounge into a “attraction” was born.
The new TIA Business Lounge incorporates three main key points, that allow the creation of areas that can provide different uses as you move along the spaces, and provides a visual experience that integrates tradition into the modern.
These additions can be seen as soon as one enters the lounge, with the passenger areas as a first point. Since the business lounge can be one of the first places that foreigners might arrive at, a key focus was put on the implementation of Albanian tradition into it. And for that, the “visual” separation of the different areas, not only create visual divisions, but points of interest with the implementation distinct patterns and information on the “vertical rug installations”, that represent different regions of the country. As such while you are walking around in the lounge, you can experience an “exhibition” of Albanian folklore.
Parallel to the passenger areas, we have the “copper wall”. Within it the service areas, such as the bathrooms, kitchen or storage area, are pronounced such that they can be easily found, but allow them to not break the harmony of the continuous wall of copper. It creates a contrast to the more open areas that dominate the lounge by creating a “visual heavy” space.
At the end of the lounge, distinguished by the “glass wall”, the relaxation area is positioned. With it, the implementation of an abstract “forest” creates a somber area that allows passengers to relax and enjoy a more peaceful space, with dimmer lighting due to the frosted glass.
