“Rossini” restaurant

The ideation of this restaurant, positioned in the crossroad that connects the Prime Minister's Office to
RTSH (The national radio and television’s building), is based on three main interior design concepts:

intimacy, warmth and fluidity, which are reflected in its three main spaces.

The first area with which we are confronted with is the veranda, the green contour and large vases of which aim to buff the noisy streets to a calm “garden-like” serenity. What follows the veranda are two doors, one directing you to the private dining room and the other to the entrance of the restaurant.

The private dining room area is comprised of elements out of the ordinary, such as the show-cooking marble table or the arched separé, balance with the usage of wooden elements and texturized wall finishes. The largest area of this premises is that of the restaurant, which functions within itself as a group of “islands” that play with transparency and intimacy through translucent materials, massive furniture that create holes to look through the objects they exhibit, and the varying positions of the tables in terms of height and direction.

The usage of arches aims to create fluidity not only in movement, but vision as well. The later, besides in the volumetry of the furniture, is also used in the ceiling lightning to function as a guide to the movement through these areas. In conclusion, the main intention behind the design of this restaurant has been to offer comfort to all states of mind or feeling all the while maintaining harmony in contrast.
