This was the only architecture studio from Kosovo to be selected with two projects among the other candidates, which were presented to an international jury. “ArchiEDU” managed to grab the first prize of the SHARE Future Projects Awards Skopje 2020, with the “Prishtina PARK-ing” project.
“Prishtina PARK-ing” – archiEDU
The PRISHTINA PARK-ing project is a park and an underground parking lot in the center of Prishtina, Kosovo, on George Bush Street, in the space between the Faculty of Philology and the Cathedral.
The design approach and the main purpose of the project, is to create a quality public space, which contains a range of activities and functions for all visitors of all ages from 0 – 65+.
During the design, special attention was paid to the interconnection of the park with the underground parking, giving the parking additional attributes and unusual aspects of experience – thus incorporating greenery inside parking, allowing natural lighting and ventilation to penetrate up to the bottom floor of the parking lot, consequently making these spaces much more sustainable and qualitative – beyond the primary function of the underground parking for vehicles.
