Studio Bellesi Giuntoli – Urban and Landscape design
Silvia Bellesi, Alberto Giuntoli
EuroPlant Georgia, LTD
This design started from the analysis of “genius loci”, the stylistic demands of the client and from the aspiration to have a strong and a direct relationship with the significant architectural context. The researched design is seen through different types of wide open spaces, each with its own functionality; based on our experience and knowledge on botanical material.
The paths, seats and urban furniture have been designed with great accuracy of details, while the scalar blooming of the vegetation adds versatility to the park during all year long. As the ‘MIA’ Garden Project fits in a remarkable architectural context – designed by aMDL Architetto Michele De Lucchi Srl – Michele de Lucchi, Freyrie & Pestalozza Architetti Associati – it has become a new icon in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia.
The landscape design establishes a dialogue with this way of thinking about urban space, integrating the volume of the building with the surrounding environment using a 3-dimensional approach, similar to architecture also in the design of greenery.
Small green spaces, designed differently from each other, each with its own nature and function, and the design of paths and urban furniture contribute to the attention to detail that is the essence of the project. Particular attention has been dedicated to the flowering times of the plants, in order to guarantee the park high versatility during the seasons.
