2. Jonathan Adler
Potter, designer and author Jonathan Adler launched his namesake brand after leaving his day job to pursue his first love: pottery. In 1993, Barneys bought his collection of pots, and five years later, he opened his first store in Soho. Jonathan’s desire to design all the bits one needs to create a flawlessly chic home led to more and more. A creative Spanish designer and architect who lives in Italy, Patricia Urquiola is famous for her unmistakable mix of various styles. Whether she’s designing furniture, tiling, or bathroom faucets – this artist combines the minimalistic with the playful, reduced forms with floral elements in a unique fashion. She mixes styles, patterns, and materials according to her own taste and with sensual extravagance.
4. Martyn Lawrence Bullard
Martyn Lawrence Bullard is a multi-award winning Los Angeles-based interior designer renowned for his broad range of styles and eclectic, yet sophisticated and inviting interiors. Martyn has been consistently named as one of the world’s top 100 interior designers by Architectural Digest, featured permanently in Elle Decor’s A-List, and named one of the top 25 designers by The Hollywood Reporter. 5. Alyssa Kapito
Since founding her eponymous firm, Alyssa Kapito has developed a reputation for creating elegant, bespoke interiors that focus on beautiful textures and clean lines. Alyssa has been widely recognized for work in the design field and in May of 2017 she was added to the prestigious “Elle Decor A-list” of the top interior designers in the world. 6. Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are brothers and designers based in Paris. They have been working together for about fifteen years bonded by diligence and challenged by their distinct personalities. Their work has covered many field ranging from the design of small objects as jewellery to spatial arrangements and architecture, from craftsmanship to industrial scale, from drawings to videos and photography. Designs of the Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are part of select international museums’ permanent collections such as the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris or the Museum of Modern Art in New York,etc. but you can see them on their Instagram profile as well.
7. Ettore Sottsass
@ettoresottsass is an Instagram account curated by Raquel Cayre, a furniture advisor, collector and curator based in New York. When she first snapped up the Instagram moniker of her favorite architect, Ettore Sottsass, she recalls, “it wasn’t about being Insta-famous. I was just really into Sottsass.” Little did she know that her account—a colorful homage to the late Italian master filled with 1980s and ’90s design and architecture—would pique the interest of many designers and celebrities. Sasha Bikoff is known for her flawless execution of bold and colorful maximalist designs sculpted by her vast worldly exploits and experiences. Bikoff’s international style is heavily influenced by the multicultural flair of her hometown, New York City, and from her frequent travels to Paris, Marrakesh and Milan. 9. Humbert & Poyet
Design and fashion enthusiasts Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet joined forces to found their studio Humbert & Poyet, in 2008. Emil is a state-qualified architect while Christophe, is a CFAI interior designer. From their studio on the glitzy streets of Monte Carlo, they provide a full range of services from construction to interior design.
