The concept for the “ACROKERAUN” touristic resort is not merely architectural. Winner of SHARE FUTURE PROJECTS AWARDS Tirana 2020, the project has an approach towards the natural, cultural, historical, but also constructive context of the area that represents the essence of the formula for guaranteeing the sustainability of the project and the success of this unique venture.
The idea of the project originates from the morphology of the native village, its unity and functionalism, which has been confirmed for centuries. It recreates the theme of coastal residences under contemporary perspectives of reinterpreting consolidated values, enriching them with new elements necessary for the typology of today’s tourist accommodation.
The volumetric composition is based on the simplistic forms of local architecture and especially that of the Mediterranean sea, creating harmonious relations with the steep terrain and considering the strong geographical orientation and landscape, especially the Ionian Sea.
At the same time, the different spatial solutions and the relationships between the small units with each other and the area as a whole, create the necessary dynamics in providing flexible accommodation and rest opportunities. This advantage is associated with the scrupulous treatment of the element of intimacy, as a confirmed value of the characteristic tourism in this part of the Mediterranean.
